Decking that belongs to the property.

Decking that belongs to the property.

Composite and timber decking designed around the way you want to use the space, how you want it to feel and the conditions of the site.

A successful deck is more than a surface laid outside the house.

Its position, proportions, levels, board layout and supporting structure all affect how it connects the home and garden. As a Millboard Approved Installer, we design and construct Millboard decking as individual projects and as part of wider landscape and property transformations.

Begin with how you want the space to work and feel.

A deck may become a place to eat, entertain, sit, move between levels or connect the house with another part of the garden. We begin with that use rather than with the board itself.

Different environments call for different decking.

Timber and composite decking systems have different characteristics, construction requirements, maintenance needs and ways of responding to their environment. We understand those differences and recommend materials and systems because they suit the project and its environment.

The deck performs as a complete system.

A good decking board cannot compensate for an unsuitable supporting structure. Ground conditions, existing construction, foundations, subframe, spans, joist spacing, fixings, drainage, ventilation and the surface material all need to work together.

Water needs somewhere to go.

Rainwater should not simply disappear through the gaps and be forgotten. We consider how water will move beneath and around the deck so that the construction and surrounding site provide an appropriate route for it.
